The Rend Lake College and the Rend Lake College Foundation wanted to create additional collaborative space and study rooms in the existing library. The project included extending the building space to the west under the existing building overhang to create new glass enclosed spaces for group collaborative projects or individual study rooms. The new main entrance to the building was created for easier access to the building from the main campus for the students. The exterior patio includes a new student collaborative seating area with planters and benches, solar powered charging stations for devices will be arranged around the patio.

The interior CTE Success Lab, Computer lab, Wellness Center and Children’s Library were renovated to create new modern spaces for the students with reconfiguring the spaces and installing new finishes and lighting.

The project design provided the renovation of the 1958 campus boathouse into the Ralph E. Becker Pavilion. The new Pavilion provides interior multi-purpose space for educational and special event activities. The project included the complete renovation of the interior and exterior of the facility, painting of the Boat Dock, replacement of the lake wall, and creation of a new patio.

EAA has been working with OLMC School in Herrin, Illinois since 2011. We have provided services for Health/Life Safety reviews and projects including a new walk-in cooler/freezer, replace Gym doors, and design for exterior exit stairs.

In 2014, EAA was selected to provide design services for a new Pre-K through 8th Grade School. Work was recently completed on the 43,000 s.f., single-story school which replaces multiple existing buildings, including the K-5th grade building which is over 60 years old. The design utilizes collaborative teaching rooms and multi-purpose meeting spaces.

The new school also includes a safe room designed to FEMA standards to provide a shelter during severe weather for the entire school.
